500 flying monsters to hit Melbourne!

In celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s BAFTA-winning movie Flying Monsters 3D coming to Melbourne, IMAX Melbourne Museum will be hosting a kite-flying event at 11:00am on Saturday 31 March.

The first 500 people who turn up to the plaza on Rathdowne Street Carlton (outside IMAX) at 11:00am on Saturday 31 March will get to take home their own free Flying Monsters kite!

If the weather is nice, 2005 World Kite Flying Champion Jo Baker will demonstrate flying huge kites and you can have a go yourself.

220 Million years ago, as dinosaurs were taking control of the Earth; another reptile was beginning its domination of the skies: the pterosaur. With wingspans of up to 40 feet, pterosaurs were equal in size to modern day jet planes.

In Flying Monsters 3D, Sir David Attenborough seeks to uncover the truth about the mysterious and enigmatic pterosaur and to find out how and why these ‘flying monsters’ managed to defy gravity and fly.

Flying Monsters 3D opens at IMAX Melbourne Museum on 22 March 2012. Check out the Flying Monsters 3D trailer here
