FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How do I make a booking?
Movie bookings can be made via Education Bookings Office by calling 03 9663 0200, Mon to Fri, from 9am until 5pm.

Between the hours of 10am and 3pm (Monday – Friday during school terms) school groups of more then 20 students are able to request a film of their choice for their group (‘first in best dressed’ applies to choice of film). We recommend you book early to secure the film and date of your choice. In the event your group is smaller than 20 students, your group is welcome to attend a session that has been programmed for a larger group.

For bookings outside these hours, and during general public screening time, conditions apply. Please contact IMAX Melbourne Museum for further information regarding attending movies outside of our dedicated schools sessions.

How do I make payment?
Payment must be made to the box office on the day of your excursion via cash, cheque, credit or debit card.

IMAX Melbourne Museum cannot extend credit and does not accept purchase orders. An invoice will be sent to you at the time of confirmation (via email or fax) based on the number of students/extra adults quoted in the original booking.

Payment will be accepted on the day for the number of students in attendance only.

What happens I have more/less students then I originally booked for?
You will be required to make payment for the number of students in attendance only. In the instance a cheque has been drawn for more students than are in attendance, you will be refunded the difference, in cash, at the box office.

Please note, unless the group leader informs the Box Office of the exact number of students in attendance, payment for the amount of students on the original invoice will be required.

How do I cancel or change my booking?
IMAX Melbourne Museum reserves the right to charge a cancellation/change fee of 50% of the total costs of the original booking if notification is not received 10 days in advance of the date of the original booking. Cancellations must be made in writing via email to imaxeducation@museum.vic.gov.au.

What do I do when I arrive with my group?
To ensure smooth and prompt entry, please arrive at least 15-20 mins prior to the start of your movie session, to allow for payment and seating of your group.

Upon arrival, floor staff will greet you, and take your students into the theatre. Whilst this is occurring, the group leader will need to approach box office to make payment, and inform box office of the number of students in attendance.

What happens if we are late?

If your group is running late, please call Box Office on 03 8341 7483 to inform us you are behind schedule.

School groups are advised to arrive 15-20 minutes prior to the start of your session to allow time for payment and seating of your group.

Film sessions start exactly on the hour and late entry may not be possible. Late groups will be invited to attend the next scheduled screening if seats are available.

How do I place a candy bar order for my group?

Attached to your booking confirmation is a Candy Bar offer for school groups. This needs to be filled out and faxed back to us on 03 9663 0300 at least 24 hours prior to your visit. Please allow extra time in your arrival to allow for candy bar orders.
